OUR STORY

With sweeping views over rural landscape and the Indian Ocean, Eagle Bay Brewing Co is a brewpub with a production brewery, restaurant, garden bar and vineyard tucked away on the family farm, in the northwestern corner of the Margaret River wine region.

Eagle Bay Brewing Co has been owned and operated from the ground up since 2010, by third generation local farming siblings Nick, Astrid and Adrian d’Espeissis. The property has been in our family since 1950 and the farm is still operational with the trio’s father John farming the land that the building overlooks in Cape Naturaliste.

Our beers are handcrafted and brewed in small batches and made with four key ingredients; freshly harvested rainwater, malted barley, yeast, hops and sunshine to power our brewery. We do not add any preservatives to our brews and we source the best quality ingredients, as locally as possible, to bring you deliciously brewed beers.

The property has a 25 year-old vineyard on-site. Each year we harvest the fruit from the vineyard and it is used as the basis for our Eagle Bay Vineyard range of wines.

The Eagle Bay Brewing Co. kitchen is headed-up by Head Chef Rupert Brown. The food is wholesome, simple and fresh, full of local produce, including seasonal ingredients freshly plucked from our kitchen garden. Our food is created according to old-fashioned cooking principals with no short cuts and the menu changes seasonally.

OUR RESTAURANT

Our restaurant overlooks farmland and bush land to Cape Naturaliste and the Indian Ocean. We offer bright open spaces, a casual and relaxed experience sharing our freshly brewed beers, approachable wines and delicious food.

Our menu is designed with a strong commitment to local produce, our kitchen garden and seasonality. We love serving up delicious fare to compliment our handcrafted beers and wines. We love a good gathering for any occasion, whether it's long lunch with friends or a cheeky afternoon drink, we have all bases covered for everyone on all occasions. We happily cater for kids and have a playground on-site.

Our restaurant is open everyday for everybody, from 11am to 4pm, except for Saturdays 11am to 5pm. Our new garden bar is open every Saturday and Sunday. Walk ins always welcome.

OUR BEERS

Our Brewery is run by Head Brewer Keegan Steinbacher and all of our beers are handcrafted, brewed and canned on site in Eagle Bay.

We do not add any preservatives, additives or any nasty stuff to our beers. We source the best quality ingredients, as local as possible, to bring you a full flavoured and freshly brewed beer to your glass.

The Eagle Bay beer line up has taken inspiration from the styles of beer that they are based on, but brewed with our Eagle Bay customers in mind. Meaning they are all brewed with sessionability in mind, approachable in style, balanced and best enjoyed with friends in the sunshine, or on an adventure in the south west.

Our current core range consists of six different brews; Kolsch, Wheatbelt Lager, XPA, Pale, India Pale Lager and Cacao Stout.

OUR WINES

Eagle Bay Vineyard is located on our farm, above Eagle Bay on Cape Naturaliste. Our vines were planted in 1991 and as a result of many hours of hard work, we now have about 15 acres under vine, which includes Shiraz, Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon. This area is tiny (even by Margaret River wine region standards) and our aim is for our small plot to be the best loved 15 acres of vines in the region.

Due to our tiny size, we do not have enough fruit to warrant having a winery at our vineyard; rather we take our revered fruit to the best winemakers in the region, gather some additional grapes from our favourite vineyards in the area and create our range of Eagle Bay Vineyard wines.

Our Eagle Bay Vineyard line-up includes; Chardonnay, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose, Nouveau, Shiraz, Cabernet Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

We also do a Bubbles Blanc and Bubbles Rose. A pair of sparkling wines full of fruit grown in the Great Southern wine region, both bright, fresh and bubbly.

We keep our wine production super boutique and only make enough wine to be enjoyed at our restaurant, take-away’s from our provisions store on-site or purchased through our webstore.
