Local Love Stories Hero Couple Rachelle and Bryce

Local Love Stories

BACK TO FUN STUFF

We love celebrating love at Eagle Bay. Meet Rachelle and Bryce McRae-Lea, who tied the knot in a gorgeous wedding ceremony, followed by a wedding reception to remember at our place on 9th March 2024.

Rachelle and Bryce always knew they wanted to get married in the South West, somewhere around the Margaret River Region, before they even started planning. It was a no brainer for them, with the beautiful beaches and wineries, it meant that for the two of them and their extended families, they could just relax and enjoy the weekend for what it was.

We got the insider info on how they created their perfect wedding, summarised in a six short fire questions.

– Why did you land on Eagle Bay as your venue?

We viewed a number of venues when trying to decide where would be the perfect venue to tie the knot. When we stopped in at Eagle Bay for drink to finish off the busy day, we just fell in love with the view and the overall aesthetic of the venue. It was like love and first sight! We chose a theme of just classic, modern, and timeless, which went so well with the venue. The neutral colours, and the stunning lawn area tied everything together so perfectly.

How did you chose your vendors (Gordon Becker, Sentiment Flowers, Cape Events, etc)?

Bryce was in charge of booking our vendors (with my final approval of course). We just did a bit of research on the internet about vendors down south and their names popped up multiple times. Everyone made the process super easy, they all understood the assignment and we’re just so happy with how the day turned out which wouldn’t have been possible without them all.

– Top south west to-dos on your wedding weekend?

Watching the amazing south west sunset is a must! Booking a long table lunch with your bridal party after rehearsal the day before your big day. And a swim at any of the other unreal beaches on offer the morning after to finally cap off an amazing weekend.

– One key bit of advice to future couples in the leadup to their wedding day?

Enjoy the process, book vendors that compliment your specific style and don’t get caught up about anything that may go wrong on the day, because no one will even realise!

– A favourite memorable moment on your special day?

It would have to be the dance floor. Our guests never left the dance floor all night.

– Song that got everyone up on the dance floor on your wedding night?

Not sure if Rufus – Next to me is the ultimate party song to get people on the dance floor, but this was our first dance and as soon as our guests were invited on to join us, no one left! Otherwise we’d say Mr Brightside – The Killers.
