It takes a village - meet Emma

BACK TO FUN STUFF

It takes a village to bring Eagle Bay Brewing Co. to life, and with every village it’s people are it’s backbone. As part of our It Takes A Village journal, we catch up with some of the people that make our village so vibrant. Meet Emma Warner, our Office Manager aka (aka the EBBCo super glue and on-site Mum to all).

Emma started with us back December 2015, on 31st December in fact (during the peak mid chaos of down south summer holidays ) – and Emma is still our Office Manager to this day.

“First day was New Year’s Eve so that was pretty full-on. I got taken out to the front and shown what goes on during crazy summer holiday time at Eagle Bay. And it was pretty much, you’re either going to flourish and be here for years or it’s going to drive you over the edge and you’ll run for the hills, and I’m still here.”

Tell us about what you do day to day ?

“My role is looking after payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, making sure our team are being looked after. It makes it sound like I don’t do a lot, doesn’t it ? But then 100 little subtitles under all of those, ha ha”.

“Prior to Eagle Bay I was working as a Receptionist for another local business, but there were three of us in total, including the owner. So it’s a big jump coming here. And I also did the books for our family business at the time.”

What are some of your favourite things about Eagle Bay ?

“Oh, my absolute favorite is driving in in the morning and if the cows are in the paddocks along the driveway, because I love seeing them and just stopping and talking to the girls.
I think when we get together and have events. I also actually really do enjoy coming out and helping the team on the floor when it’s busy days.

What is it that you love about working here?

“The people, first and foremost. It’s been a great supportive family group over my time here. The view’s pretty awesome as well.”

Where can we find you on the weekends ?

“I’ve just got back into riding my horse. It’s been sitting in a paddock for a couple of years. We also do a lot of traveling for my son’s Motorsport; he races go-karts, and that takes us all over the WA”

What are your favorite local go-tos?

“I can never go past breakfast at Artezen or Goanna Gallery. I also love any excuse to head to Yarri and Rustico.”

Finally – staffie of choice?

“A glass of our Eagle Bay Vineyard Nouveau.”
