Local Love Story: Sophie & Joe

The South West has always been a special place for Sophie and Joe. A destination for countless holidays, cherished memories, and even their engagement in Dunsborough. When it came time to plan their wedding, there was no question about where they wanted to say “I do.”
“Given the South West has been the location for so many of our wonderful memories as a couple, it made sense to celebrate the biggest day of our lives here.”

Why Eagle Bay?
The couple envisioned a wedding that was relaxed, fun, and full of colour. Eagle Bay Brewing Co. immediately stole their hearts with its breathtaking mix of bushland, lush greenery, and ocean views.

Their guests were equally smitten with the setting. Many commented on how beautiful the venue was, noting that even the stunning photos don’t fully capture its magic.

Sophie and Joe dedicated a lot of time to researching local South West vendors, and it paid off. Every supplier was not only talented but also fun, approachable, and professional, making the day run seamlessly.
“All of our vendors were local to the South West and had worked together before, which meant everything flowed smoothly and stress-free.”

Memorable Moments
A standout memory for the couple was cocktail hour, where they could soak up the love of family and friends while guests enjoyed the sweeping scenery as the sun set.

Making a Weekend of It
One of the best parts of their Friday wedding was that guests turned it into a long weekend celebration. From a recovery lunch at Cheeky Monkey, to beach swims, coastal walks, mini-golf, and even a sauna and cold plunge at Vitality Steam Sauna – it was the ultimate South West experience.

Words of Wisdom
The couple’s advice for future lovebirds?
“Stay organised! Lock in vendors early, set aside time for planning each week, and most importantly – enjoy every moment. People told us the day would fly by, and they were right.”

Dancefloor Magic & Eagle Bay Favourites
The party hit a high when South Sound Events played “Best Song Ever” by One Direction, keeping the dancefloor alive all night. 

Their go-to Eagle Bay favourites? The Ginger Beer (a strong favourite with Sophie) and the crowd-pleasing Bubbles Blanc.
