It Takes A Village - Meet Tayla
The Eagle Bay experience is shaped by the people behind it. In our It Takes a Village series, we introduce the passionate team members who help make Eagle Bay Brewing Co. such a special place to visit.
Meet Tayla | Restaurant Supervisor
Some people discover hospitality by accident. For Tayla, it turned into a career she genuinely loves.
Joining Eagle Bay Brewing Co. in 2020 as an 18-year-old with no hospitality experience, Tayla has grown from a casual front of house team member into one of our Restaurant Supervisors, with her sights now set on becoming our next Functions Supervisor.
Her journey is a great example of what can happen when you embrace new challenges and say yes to opportunities.
Taking the Leap
Before joining Eagle Bay Brewing Co., Tayla was working at Coles and looking for something different.
"I really wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and learn something new."
Hospitality was completely unfamiliar, but she'd heard Eagle Bay was a fun place to work.
She was right.
Starting just before the busy summer season meant there was no easing into the role.
"It was a huge learning experience because I had to learn really quickly and just jump straight into it."
Finding Her Feet
After her first busy summer, Tayla packed her bags and headed to Broome for six months.
It was her first solo adventure after finishing school and an opportunity to experience a different part of Australia.
But as summer approached again, she found herself drawn back to the South West.
The beaches.
The lifestyle.
The friends she'd made.
And, of course, the Eagle Bay team.
Growing with the Team
Since returning, Tayla has continued to grow alongside the business.
Her positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to lead under pressure saw her promoted to Restaurant Supervisor in October 2022.
Today, she's taking the next step again, training to become our Functions Supervisor.
Watching team members grow and develop their careers is something we're incredibly proud of, and Tayla's journey is a perfect example.
Why Eagle Bay?
Ask Tayla what she enjoys most about working here and the answer comes without hesitation.
"The team stick together. We all become friends and it's such a positive workplace. It genuinely makes me happy."
It's that sense of community that keeps so many of our team coming back season after season.
