IT TAKES A VILLAGE - Meet Rhys
The Eagle Bay experience is shaped by the people behind it. In our It Takes a Village series, we introduce the passionate team members who help make Eagle Bay Brewing Co. such a special place to visit.
Meet Rhys | Brewer
Rhys' journey at Eagle Bay Brewing Co. is proof that sometimes the best opportunities come when you least expect them.
After spending several summers working front of house between overseas adventures, Rhys made the move behind the scenes in 2020. What started on our packaging line soon evolved into an opportunity to join the brewing team, where he's now helping craft the beers enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
From Front of House to Brewer
Rhys first joined Eagle Bay Brewing Co. in 2015, working summer seasons with our front of house team.
Between harvests and busy holiday periods, he chased adventures around the globe.
Snow seasons in Perisher and Japan, managing a surf camp in Indonesia, mountain biking, fishing and surfing all became part of his story.
When an opportunity arose to work on the packaging line in 2020, Rhys jumped at the chance to learn more about brewing.
Before long, he found himself stepping into the brewery and taking on his next challenge as a brewer.
Living for Adventure
If Rhys isn't in the brewery, chances are you'll find him outdoors.
Whether he's chasing waves, carving through fresh snow, casting a line or exploring mountain bike trails, he's happiest when he's outside.
That same curiosity and willingness to try new things carries through into brewing, where no two days are ever quite the same.
