It Takes A Village - Meet Grace
The Eagle Bay experience is shaped by the people behind it. In our It Takes a Village series, we introduce the passionate team members who help make Eagle Bay Brewing Co. such a special place to visit.
Meet Grace | Hospitality Supervisor
For Grace, hospitality has always been about one thing.
People.
Whether she's chatting with guests, supporting the team through a busy lunch service or catching up over a post-shift staffie on the lawn, creating genuine connections is what she loves most.
Grace joined Eagle Bay Brewing Co. almost three years ago, and what was meant to be a short stop in the South West quickly turned into something much more permanent.
"I moved down thinking it would just be five months," she laughs. "Then suddenly three years later... here we are."
Finding Home in the South West
Before arriving in Dunsborough, Grace's work life was a mix of hospitality and people-focused roles.
She worked in cafés, reception, nannying and babysitting, often juggling several jobs at once.
"I've always loved jobs where I get to talk to people. I'm definitely a bit of a chatter."
Like many people who fall in love with the South West, Grace originally moved here for a lifestyle change.
She wanted to work hard, save money and travel.
"I love that rhythm of working for a while, then heading overseas for a few months."
Most recently, that adventure took her through Europe, with the south of France becoming an instant favourite.
"Beautiful beaches, cocktails and just a really relaxed vibe."
Next on the travel list?
South America, with Brazil's Carnival firmly at the top.
Growing with Eagle Bay
Grace started working at Eagle Bay the day after she moved to Dunsborough.
She began on the restaurant floor before naturally progressing into a Hospitality Supervisor role.
"At first, I never thought I'd want the responsibility."
"But after being here for a while, I realised I knew the place really well and was ready for the next step."
Stepping into leadership gave her a whole new perspective on hospitality.
"You start thinking about the whole experience. The guests, the team and making sure everyone is having a good shift."
"It's more responsibility, but it's incredibly rewarding."
Creating Great Experiences
For Grace, every day is different.
She loves welcoming visitors from around Australia and beyond, many of whom are experiencing Eagle Bay Brewing Co. for the very first time.
"Everyone's on holiday. They're excited to be here, excited about the view, and you get to be part of that experience."
Helping create memorable moments for guests is what continues to make hospitality so rewarding.
The Best Part of the Day
Ask Grace about her favourite Eagle Bay tradition and the answer comes instantly.
"My favourite thing ever is finishing a shift, grabbing a staffie and sitting on the grass with everyone, chatting about the day."
"It's just the best."
It's a simple ritual, but one that perfectly captures the sense of community that makes Eagle Bay Brewing Co. feel like home for so many of the team.
Life Outside the Brewery
When Grace isn't working, you'll often find her doing one of two things.
Cooking and baking.
Or spending the day at the beach.
"If I could spend an entire day in the kitchen cooking or baking, I'd be very happy."
Sharing homemade treats with the team has become something of a tradition, and one everyone appreciates.
