Meet Astrid | Co-founder

Long before the first beer was poured or the first pizza left the kitchen, there was a family farm with a vision for its future.

As one of the co-founders of Eagle Bay Brewing Co., Astrid Delmenico has been part of that journey from the very beginning.

Working alongside her brothers, Edge and Nick, Astrid helped transform a working farm into the brewery, restaurant and gathering place so many people enjoy today.

Returning Home

Astrid grew up in the South West before moving to Perth to study Environmental Science at university.

After graduating, she built a career specialising in environmental approvals for land development, navigating complex projects and government processes.

Then an opportunity came along that she couldn't ignore.

"When I had the chance to become involved in the family brewery, I quit my job, jumped on board and haven't looked back."

For Astrid, the decision was about much more than starting a business.

It was about protecting the future of the family farm.

"We always wanted to keep the farm in the family. The brewery became another way to support the property alongside cattle, wool and grapes."

Building Something Together

While her background wasn't in hospitality, many of the skills she developed in environmental consulting proved invaluable.

"You'd be surprised how transferable they are."

From development approvals to navigating government agencies and planning requirements, Astrid became the person who helped turn ideas into reality.

"I get to do all the fun paperwork."

Behind every new project sits months, and often years, of planning that helps bring Eagle Bay's long-term vision to life.

Wearing Many Hats

Like most family businesses in the early years, everyone pitched in wherever they were needed.

Astrid spent countless hours on the restaurant floor running meals, pouring beers and welcoming guests before stepping into the role of General Manager.

Today, while based in Perth with her young family, she continues working on strategic projects and long-term planning for the business.

Most recently, she played a key role in securing approvals for the Garden Bar development.

Building a Great Workplace

One of Astrid's greatest passions isn't just the guest experience.

It's the team experience.

"My focus is making sure people feel supported throughout their journey with us."

She believes creating a great workplace begins well before someone's first shift.

From clear communication and structured onboarding to ongoing learning and development, Astrid is passionate about helping every team member feel confident, welcomed and set up for success.

"When someone walks through the door on day one, we want them to already feel like they belong."

Watching Eagle Bay Grow

Looking across the brewery today, Astrid still finds it incredible to see how far the business has come.

"The brewery has become much bigger than we ever imagined."

One of her favourite moments is watching guests experience the property for the first time.

Seeing families enjoying the open spaces.

Watching children spot kangaroos.

People taking photos of the views across the farm to the ocean.

Those moments never get old.

Still the Family's Happy Place

Long before Eagle Bay Brewing Co. existed, this part of the farm was already special.

"We'd bring deck chairs down here, sit under the trees and have a picnic with a beer."

Today, while the venue has grown enormously, that feeling remains exactly the same.

"It's still our happy place."

The difference now is that thousands of visitors each year get to enjoy it too.
