The Lager Saga

Fours beers enter, one beer leaves, in the 2017 Eagle Bay Lager Saga.

Eagle Bay Brewing Co. is on a quest to find their newest full-time beer. With space for a single lager in the line-up, they’re pitting a quartet of different brews against each other via public vote, to see which will rise as the people’s champion.

Staged across three different venues and select bottle shops in Western Australia, each flavour will go through blind testing from beer experts and lovers alike. Voting will take place at the locations to avoid any marketing bias.

“We wanted to bring this one to the people, because lager is such a people’s beer,” said Head Brewer, Nick d’Espeissis about the event. “Lagers are summery, easy to drink and best enjoyed with a bunch of friends, but they’re are not all created equal. We wanted to try a few options that played on different flavours and aromas. It will be interesting to see which one comes out on top.”

Taking place during October, participating venues include The Fire Station, Petition Beer Corner, Mane Liquor and Eagle Bay Brewing Co. The winning taste will take up long-term residence in bottles and taps across the state from Dec 1st, just in time for the festive season.

Keep your eyes open, tastebuds prepped and get ready to put in your vote. The Lager Saga is heading your way.
