Brewer's Series Cacao Stout welcome back

Winter days down south have returned. Along with that comes our seasonal Brewer’s Series Cacao Stout, welcome back to the brew house.

Our Cacao Stout is brewed in the best kind of way using all of our usual ingredients of Eagle Bay rainwater, hops, yeast, malt and the addition of Cacao husks sourced from local chocolate makers down the road Bahen & Co. Chocolate.

Operating from their factory in Margaret River they are dedicated to making chocolate the old fashioned way, in small batches, using vintage machines and only two ingredients; cacao beans and cane sugar. After roasting, the husk of the bean has significant flavour and complexity, however it is not always used in the chocolate making process. The cacao husks are a waste product of Bahen & Co’s chocolate making process (reduce, reuse, recycle – we love to do our little bit to make our beer more sustainable).

Our Cacao Stout contains cacao bean husks from single origin farms in Brazil, Madagascar and Papua New Guinea. Approximately twenty kilos of Cacao husk goes into every one thousand litres of beer we make. The Cacao Stout is black in appearance featuring aromas of bittersweet dark chocolate and roasted coffee. The pallet is rich and robust with hints of cocoa and coffee from the dark malts and the cacao husks. The Cacao Stout is delicious, a smooth and cosy wintery stout, perfect for some get-togethers around the fire on winter days down south.

Brewer’s Series Cacao Stout on tour is kicking off this weekend have sorted some gatherings and some lovely local bottle shops to stock up.
